Dussehra - the perfect day to buy a home
India is characterized by a diversity of religious beliefs and practices, nearly 80% of the population of India practices Hinduism. Dussehra being a Hindu festival,
celebrates the God Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana and the triumph of good over evil.
Dussehra is considered as one of the most auspicious days for buying a home or to begin a new project/ event. Generally, the booking of flats starts around this time and continues till Diwali.
People refrain from investing or buying a property during the time of Pitrupaksha (a 16-day period during which people perform shradh for their ancestors) and thus wait for it to end, to take any investment related decisions. While Dussehra seems to bring opportunities, many home-buyers also believe that it brings in good luck and prosperity.
Here are the reasons backed-up by beliefs for considering new investments on Dussehra:
● Dussehra (or Vijayadashmi) is an auspicious day as it symbolises new beginnings
● Investing in a new project or owning a property on this day is considered lucky
● It is believed to bring in ‘Vijay’ i.e victory, thus making a new investment by buying property or starting a new business is considered favourable as wealth and happiness is expected to grow if any long term purchase is made on this day
● It is regarded as holy for commencing new project and investments, because the results are expected to be favourable and positive if started on this prosperous day
● Special deals are offered to the home-buyers
Apart from Dussehra, Gudi Padwa, Akshaya Thrithiya, Dhanteras and Diwali are some other days that are considered auspicious according to the Hindu calendar.
